If you’re a UAE resident planning a trip to Singapore, applying for a Singapore tourist e-visa is a simple process. Unlike traditional sticker visas, Singapore issues only e-visas, which are sent directly to your email.
The good news for UAE citizens is that they don’t need a pre-arranged visa, as they can get a visa on arrival for a 30-day stay, extendable up to 90 days. However, for other UAE residents, securing an e-visa is necessary.
In this guide, I will share with you the step-by-step process of applying for a Singapore visa, the required documents, and how to ensure a smooth application process.
By the end, you’ll have all the information you need to confidently apply for your Singapore e-visa, with standard processing taking between 3 to 5 days and a total fee of AED 155.
UAE residents holding certain nationalities are required to obtain a Singapore visa before visiting.
This applies to residents from countries like Afghanistan, Algeria, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Bangladesh, Belarus, Egypt, Georgia, India, Iran, Iraq, Jordan, Kazakhstan, Kosovo, Kyrgyzstan, Mali, Moldova, Morocco, Nigeria, Pakistan, Russia, Saudi Arabia, Somalia, Sudan, Syria, Tajikistan, Tunisia, Ukraine, Uzbekistan, and Yemen.
Required Documents for Singapore E-Visa For UAE Residents
When applying for a Singapore e-visa as a UAE resident, it is important to prepare the necessary documents carefully. Here’s a step-by-step guide on what you’ll need:
1. Visa Application Form (Form 14A)
You’ll need to fill out Visa Application Form 14A completely. Ensure that it’s signed, as your signature confirms that all the information provided is accurate, and you’re aware of the legal consequences of providing false details.
2. Passport-Size Photographs
Submit two passport-size color photos with the following specifications:
Size: 4.5 cm x 3.5 cm
Background: Clear white
Attire: Dark-colored shirt
Photos must be taken within the last three months, preferably from a professional photo studio. You’ll also need to provide a digital copy to the Visa Application Center via email.
3. Original Passport
Your original passport must be valid for at least six months from your intended entry date into Singapore. Additionally, submit copies of the passport’s bio page and any relevant renewal or amendment pages.
4. UAE Residence Visa Copy
You must provide a copy of your valid UAE residence visa, which should be valid for the entire duration of your trip to Singapore.
5. Salary Certificate
For Employees: You need an original salary certificate from your employer, signed and stamped, dated within the last month. This document should include your position, salary, and the company’s full contact details (physical address, phone number, and email).
For Business Owners/Self-Sponsors: Provide a letter on your company’s letterhead, including your position, income details, and company contact information, along with your trade license showing your name as the owner or partner.
For Dependents: Submit the salary certificate or letter from the company of the UAE visa sponsor. For minors, a No Objection Certificate (NOC) signed by both parents is required, along with copies of their passports and UAE visas.
6. Flight Booking
Submit a round-trip flight reservation at the time of your visa application to prove your intended travel plans.
7. Accommodation Details
You need to provide proof of accommodation for your stay in Singapore. This can include:
Hotel Booking or Serviced Apartment reservation.
If you’re staying with family or friends, submit an invitation letter from the host, along with a copy of their National Registration Identity Card (NRIC).
8. Letter of Introduction (LOI)
In some cases, you might need a Letter of Introduction (LOI). This document can be provided by a local contact in Singapore, who must be a Singapore citizen or permanent resident aged 21 or above.
The LOI should include the full details of the inviting person, such as their name, NRIC number, occupation, address, and phone number.

1. Book an Appointment with VFS Global
The first step in your visa application process is booking an appointment with VFS Global, the authorized visa processing center for Singapore in the UAE. You cannot submit your application without this appointment.
2. Gather Required Documents
For your Singapore e-visa application, ensure you have the following essential documents ready:
Two passport-sized photos (recent and with white background)
Hotel booking confirmation
Flight reservation
Bank statement (optional but advisable)
While a bank statement is not always required, it is better to have it on hand to avoid potential delays.
3. Additional Requirements for Certain Nationalities
If you are an Indian national, you do not need an invitation letter. However, for Pakistani or Bangladeshi nationals, an invitation letter is mandatory. This letter must be arranged before your visa submission. You can get assistance from local travel agencies or companies that offer visa services.
4. Fill Out the Visa Application Form
Before your VFS appointment, download and fill out the Singapore visa application form. Double-check that all your details are accurate and match your documents. Bring the completed form to your VFS Global appointment.
5. Submit Your Documents at VFS Global
On the day of your appointment, submit all the required documents at the VFS Global office. If you’re a Pakistani or Bangladeshi national, ensure you have your invitation letter included with the application.
6. Pay the Visa Fee
The total cost for the Singapore e-visa is approximately 155 AED, which includes both the visa fee and VFS service charges. This makes it an affordable option for those planning to visit Singapore.
7. Wait for Visa Processing
